Whirlwind by David Klass

April 19, 2013When we last saw Jack Danielson, in Firestorm, book one of the Caretaker Trilogy, he had just saved the world’s oceans. Unfortunately, he lost much in pursuing that quest. His parents were murdered by the Dark Army; he lost his home, and everything he knew was flipped upside down. After working his way back across the Atlantic, Jack returns to the town he used to call home to see his longtime girlfriend, P. J., the only thing that remains from his former life. There’s just one problem, P. J. has been kidnapped by the Colonel, the future Dark Lord, in revenge for Jack killing the Dark Lord’s son in book one. Much as Jack wanted life to return to normal, whatever that would be, he cannot stand by knowing P. J. is in the future Dark Lord’s clutches. This time Jack’s quest is purely personal—to save P.J. and get out, but Gisco, Jack’s canine sidekick, and Eko, Jack’s future wife, are determined to have Jack defeat the future Dark Lord once and for all.
