Rain is Cap’s hippie grandmother, and the “community” is a farm commune that he and Rain run all by themselves.  In fact, Cap has never really interacted with anyone else but Rain, so you can imagine that transitioning into middle school would be more than difficult.  But if you combine that with the fact that at this middle school, the students have a tradition of choosing for the eighth grade president the biggest, nerdiest, loser they can find, you have a recipe for disaster—and not just for Cap Anderson.
