By teen libApril 19, 2013
Your best friend hates you. The guy you liked hates you. Your entire group of friends hates you. All because you did the right thing. Welcome to Mena Reece’s life, whose freshman year of high school is beginning in the worst possible way. All of her supposed friends have turned their backs on her. Mena has been kicked out of her church group. Even her parents won’t talk to her. In fact, she is grounded for life. She may as well be a leper, until science class. Casey, Mena’s assigned, super-smart lab partner, seems oblivious to the fact that Mena is a social leper.
But when Ms. Shepherd, the science teacher, begins the unit on evolution, school becomes an even more deadly battleground. And Mena’s life is about to evolve in unexpected ways.
