Dead Connection by Charlie Price

By teen lib

April 19, 2013

Murray talks to the dead. And they talk back to him. Believe it or not, Murray actually thinks he converses with some of the entombed at the Forest Grove Cemetery. Every day after school, Murray heads to the cemetery to make his rounds to his various friends. There is Blessed Daughter, killed by a brain tumor when she was eleven, and Dearly Beloved, who died in a car accident when she was a teenager. Murray also talks to James, but since he lost the lower half of his jaw in an explosion during World War I, James doesn’t talk much. But lately, Murray has been hearing snatches of another voice saying, “hide me . . . find me . . . plea. . .” Could this have anything to do with Nikki Parker, the cheerleader that has been missing for more than two months?
