“There are two kinds of people in this world—those who have had a cavity search and those who haven’t.  This is the story of how I wound up in the wrong category.” (page vii)  This is Leo’s story.  Coming to the end of his senior year of high school, Leo loses his full scholarship to Harvard when he is unfairly accused of cheating on an algebra exam.  But that actually isn’t the worst news he receives during his senior year.  Leo discovers to his horror, that his biological father isn’t the man he has always called Dad, but rather, his biological father is King Maggot, the leader of the top punk 1980s band Purge.  So Leo makes plans to confront King Maggot and force him to pay the bill from Harvard.  But with a job as a roadie on King Maggot’s summer revival tour, things might not go quite like Leo planned.
