Teenaged Assistant County Coroner Cameryn Mahoney’s latest case involves the death of a favorite teacher in town. The body was discovered by one of Cameryn’s classmates. After some investigation and time spent in the autopsy suite, it appears that the victim, Brad Oakes has been cooked to death in his own bed. But there are no signs of a fire in the bedroom and no evidence that the victim was moved after the murder took place. Despite her father’s repeated warnings to leave the case up to the police to solve, Cameryn gets closer and closer to discovering the killer’s identity with her own investigation. But then Cameryn gets too close to the killer.
