Jellicoe Road by Melina Marchetta
By teen libApril 8, 2013
Taylor Markham keeps getting deserted. First at the age of 11, she was abandoned by her mother on Jellicoe Road at a convenience store. Now at age 17 while living at a boarding school on Jellicoe Road, she has been ditched again by the person she feels closest to, Hannah, a nearby resident and not quite foster mother. While searching for Hannah and answers to her disappearance, Taylor tries to make sense of the almost complete book manuscript that Hannah left behind. If Taylor can puzzle out the meaning of the story that involves a terrible car accident on Jellicoe Road more than twenty years ago where only three children survived, she just might be able to make sense of her own tangled history.
