Double or Die: A James Bond Adventure by Charlie Higson
By teen libApril 8, 2013
A professor is kidnapped at gunpoint. But not just any professor, Alexis Fairburn, the professor, just happens to be the one in charge of the crossword-puzzle club at Eton. And Pritpal, James Bond’s roommate at Eton, is a member of this crossword-puzzle club. A cryptic and confusing resignation letter is quickly forthcoming to explain Professor Fairburn’s absence. But included with the letter is a request that it be shared with Pritpal, who of course, draws James into the mystery. Once he, Pritpal, and their friends manage to crack the code, less than twenty-four hours remain in which to save Professor Fairburn. With kidnapping, explosions, and murder, this is obviously not an ordinary weekend at Eton, but then no one ever said James Bond was an ordinary boy.
