When Broken Glass Floats by Chanrithy Him

This is a very emotional non-fiction book about a girl living during the time of the Cambodian Genocide.  It is a true story that begins before the genocide and ends a few years after.  It is a very raw and somewhat sad book that tells the story of Chanrithy Him and her family's struggles to live during such a hard time.  It is a book that almost makes you feel as if you are there with her and her family and feel and experience what they do.  I recommend this book to anyone who likes to read non-fiction or is interested in learning more about the Cambodian Genocide.  It is an emotional book that will have you grieving with the family, laughing with them, or that will even bring tears to your eyes.
