Food, Girls, and Other Things I Can't Have by Allen Zadoff
By teen libMarch 21, 2011
Andy Zansky is actually only the second fattest kid in his high school weighing in at 306 pounds. On the very first day of his sophomore year, Andy discovers, much to his relief that he actually fits in the new desks at school, just barely. He also runs into new girl, April, who treats him like a real person and not just some fat tub of lard. Things seem to be looking up for Andy, especially when the popular football quarterback, O. Douglas, personally invites Andy to try out for the team. Perhaps Andy will be able to turn his bulk to his advantage on the football field. But sometimes things are just too good to be true, and when Andy starts doing a little investigating, he discovers just why O. Douglas wants him on the team.
