At the end of the third book, Don’t Judge a Girl by Her Cover, the Gallagher Girls are in a really difficult situation. Cammie has just found out that she, not Macey McHenry, has been the target all along. And the most frustrating thing is that no one has any idea why the bad guys are after her. Although it might have something to do with her father, but he died so many years ago, and no one is talking. The one person, who goes to great lengths to speak with her, Joe Solomon, her covert ops teacher from the Gallagher Academy, leaves her with the most cryptic message of all. “You have to follow the pigeons,” he says. (page 17) And then he turns and runs for his life. It appears, from what the authorities are telling Cammie, that Mr. Solomon is a rogue double-agent. So as Cammie returns to school for the spring semester, she no longer has any idea who she can trust. Even her teachers and classmates are not exempt anymore.
