Wish You Were Dead by Todd Strasser
By teen libFebruary 18, 2011
This book begins with five posts by anonymous blogger Str-S-d, and ends with:
“I’ll begin with Lucy. She is definitely first on the list. You can’t believe how it feels to be in the cafeteria and turn around and there she is staring at me like I’m some disgusting bug or vermin. Does she really think I WANT to be this way? I hate you, Lucy. I really hate you. You are my #1 pick. I wish you were dead.” (p.5)
And then the next day, Lucy disappears. A couple of days later Str-S-d wishes that Adam, Lucy’s boyfriend, would die, and the very next day he vanishes too. Madison, a friend to both Lucy and Adam, is especially scared. She was actually the last person to see both Lucy and Adam before they went missing. Madison also has a cyberstalker and is receiving notes that imply that she may be the next to disappear. The clock is ticking and time is running out for both Lucy and Adam. Can Madison unmask the kidnapper before her name turns up on Str-S-d’s blog?
